In a broad and deliberately undefined practice, Rose Salane builds her work by engaging with ordinary objects collected from auctions, archives and institutions. This heterogeneous repository becomes a tool for interrogating the patterns of urban life. Through sculpture, collage, installation and documentary research, her practice investigates memory, circulation, loss and anonymity. Trained in urban planning, she brings the city into each of her works as a mental infrastructure and backdrop for reflection.
