Johannesburg, South Africa

Sabelo Mlangeni’s black and white photography gives voice and representation to the marginalized in South Africa, from migrant foreign workers to LGBTQ communities. With the intention of challenging the persistent hostility in contemporary society, his work documents, as an insider and without prejudice, moments of daily life and places of work and sociality, affirming with empathy and intimacy the beauty and humanity present in contemporary society and the life of each of us.
