Born in India, S.H. Raza studied at the Beaux-Arts de Paris on a scholarship. Settled in Paris, he used his robust art education, itself displaying a markedly post-impressionist character, to evolve, autonomously and originally, into a geometric style that will guide him back east, to India, where he use pure shape and pure colour to investigate the most abstract concepts of Indian culture.
