His artistic and didactic work was fundamental for the development of the art of engraving and experimental graphics in Colombia. In the 70s he conducted a study of wall posters and political banners, analyzing the forms of visual communication. There is an adherence to magical realism in the themes he tackles, everyday realities thus appearing in a symbolic and at times surreal manner.
