Between 1946 and 1948 Cordeiro travelled between Rome and Sao Paulo, finally settling definitively in Brazil, where he would simultaneously carry out the activities of painter, art critic and journalist, becoming leader of the Concrete Art community. Initially figurative, in the 1940s his style transformed under the influence of the international abstraction of Art-Club. Cordeiro was also a pioneer in computer art, introducing the computer into his creative practice as early as the 1960s.
