WALID RAAD

Walid Raad’s practice spans photography, video, installation and performance to interrogate the way traumatic events are recorded, narrated and remembered. Known for The Atlas Group, a project dedicated to the contemporary history of Lebanon and its civil wars, he has built a body of work that constantly challenges ideas of documentation and trust in the archive. Through fiction, montage and performative lectures, Raad demonstrates how collective memory is always unstable and open to dispute.
