Writer, playwright, performer, painter and pedagogue, Werewere Liking occupies a unique place in contemporary African culture. Her practice is intrinsically linked to a communal understanding of art, understood as the formation, transmission and invention of new social possibilities. Through theatre, writing and visual arts, and through the experience of the creative hub Ki-Yi Mbock which she founded, she has built a space in which formal experimentation, orality, ritual and pedagogy are inseparably intertwined.
