Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Don Giovanni returns to the stage of the Teatro La Fenice as part of the 2023-2024 Opera and Ballet Season. The two-act dramma giocoso composed by the Salzburg composer to a libretto by Lorenzo Da Ponte will be staged in the multi-award-winning production that won an Abbiati Prize in 2011 (for sets and costumes) and no less than five Opera Awards assigned to Damiano Michieletto for direction, Paolo Fantin for sets, Carla Teti for costumes, and to the entire production as the best production of the 2010 season. Damiano Michieletto’s production will be presented with the musical direction of Robert Treviño conducting the Orchestra and Chorus of the Teatro La Fenice and a double cast that includes baritones Markus Werba and Alessio Arduini in the role of Don Giovanni, sopranos Zuzana Markova and Desirée Rancatore in that of Donna Anna, and tenors Francesco Demuro and Leonardo Cortellazzi in that of Don Ottavio; sopranos Francesca Dotto and Carmela Remigio in that of Donna Elvira, baritones Alex Esposito and Omar Montanari in that of Leporello, basses William Corrò and Lodovico Dilippo Ravizza in that of Masetto, and sopranos Lucrezia Drei and Laura Ulloa in that of Zerlina, joined by Gianluca Buratto in the role of the commendatore.
