An evening dedicated to the music of Antonio Vivaldi, entrusted to one of the Red Priest’s greatest experts, Federico Maria Sardelli. This is the programme of the next appointment of the 2023-2024 Symphonic Season of the Fondazione Teatro La Fenice in Venice, which will take place at the Teatro Malibran on Friday 14 and Sunday 16 June. The maestro – conductor, composer, flutist, musicologist, painter, engraver and literary author, a regular guest of the most important musical institutions, as well as a member of the Vivaldi Institute of the Giorgio Cini Foundation in Venice and head of the Vivaldi catalogue (rv) – will conduct the Teatro La Fenice Orchestra in the dual role of conductor and soloist on flute and transverse flute, flanked by Roberto Baraldi’s principal violin and the solo voice of soprano Michela Antenucci. The ‘Vivaldian’ evening will offer a glimpse of musical life in the Ospedale della Pietà in Venice, the orphanage convent for which Antonio Vivaldi (1678-1741) lived and worked for around forty years, between 1704 and 1740.
