Our contradictory, restless present is shown in the Turkish Pavilion using a contrast between cats and mice, protagonists of a conflict that sees them opposing a centralized, anthropocentric human government that disrespects nature and their needs. Ping-pong balls as heads and crêpe paper clothing animate a modern puppet theatre – the threads that govern our thoughts and our motions are invisible, but still strong and powerful. Thanks to a plethora of narrative and autobiographical references, Füsun Omar (b. 1938) proves herself as a visionary artist and a pioneer in the world of contemporary art.
