In the native language of the Selk’nam, a population native to Tierra del Fuego and Patagonia, Hol-Hol Tol means ‘heart of the peatlands’. In these times of climate emergency, the Chilean collective project imagines an experimental journey to conserve peatlands, which are the most efficient natural ecosystems for carbon capture and among the least studied. A multi-sensorial installation immerses visitors in the material, ancestral life of these humid environments that are essential to life on earth and to identify the aesthetics of environmental preservation.
