Through exhibitions, competitions, workshops, guided tours, conferences, and meetings with designers, artisans, architects, and industry experts from around the world, this widespread festival, conceived in 2010 by the Associazione Culturale Arte e Design, chooses to explore the theme of time this year. The title Tempora encapsulates a vision that unites the past and future, where design becomes a bridge between eras, cultures, and knowledge. In this framework, design is not expressed as a single creative act but becomes an integral part of an evolving narrative – a seamless dialogue with the natural environment, emerging technologies, and the people who inhabit them. Every idea and product is part of a shared flow that celebrates the memory of the past, looks toward the future, and promotes diversity as a source of inspiration. Tempora invites designers and visitors to reflect on the responsibility of every object as part of a continuum, a collective narrative in which aesthetics combine with function, ethics, and sustainability, thus enriching the human experience in constantly evolving world. The exhibition venues are spread throughout the city, including private galleries, museums, artists’ homes and studios, shops, and workshops, with specific thematic routes such as the one dedicated to jewelry and focused on the craftsmanship of master goldsmiths, including the VDW Jewelry Selection competition, now in its twelfth edition.
