The 42 kilometers most eagerly awaited by runners from around the globe: the Venicemarathon begins in the Riviera del Brenta, in front of the magnificent Villa Pisani, and concludes in the very heart of Venice. The route crosses the Ponte della Libertà, with the coveted finish line reached by running along the Giudecca Canal to Punta della Dogana, then crossing a floating bridge spanning the Grand Canal, and finally covering the last kilometers along the Riva degli Schiavoni, skirting the San Marco Basin. The Venicemarathon is a one-of-a-kind race that attracts record numbers of professional athletes and running enthusiasts every year. It is accompanied by a host of charitable initiatives and side events for spectators. The event is broadcast live in full by Rai on its Raiplay and Raisport channels. The live coverage will also reach New Zealand via Sky New Zealand, 33 South American countries through ESPN, and marathon highlights will be distributed to over 54 countries through Eurovision.
