Acquaprofonda is a contemporary opera for children, suitable for audiences of all ages, which uniquely portrays one of the most relevant issues of our time: water pollution. The plot conveys highly topical reflections in an immediate way.
A beach, a humble cottage, an imposing factory: the everyday life of the protagonist of our story, Serena, her father, the caretaker, and Master Buu, the owner of the factory, is disrupted by the arrival of a gigantic sea creature. Thanks to the help of the old sailor, Serena will be able to convince her father to act correctly, and will help the whale to get rid of the much plastic in its belly, remitting the polluting waste of his business to master Bu. The cast of the new Venetian production includes Federica Livi in the role of Serena, Benedetta Mazzetto in the double role of the whale and her mother; Vincenzo Spinelli in that of the guardian; Francesco Auriemma in that of the old sailor; Marco Tomasoni in that of master Bu; Luisa Bertoli, Claudio Giovani, Antonella Petillo and Giorgio Zobel will play the little fish and the followers of master Bu.
