Bianca Pucciarelli Menna, who participated in the 1978 Biennale, is the protagonist of an art journey influenced by feminist theory and practice. It shows in her choice of a masculine pseudonym – Tomaso Binga – which she chose to protest male privilege. Since 1970, her interest is towards verbal/visual writing and auditory, visual, and performative poetry. She makes art in writing, painting, performing, and researching language to investigate the role of women in life and their relationships with the other sex.
