One of the most important artists in the Thai scene, she focuses her work on the exploration of the female universe. In producing her art, Pinaree Sanpitak takes inspiration in the body of women, depicted in its most elemental forms in painting, drawing, sculpting, and fabric and ceramic art, with particular care given to the shape of the breasts. Her sense for art avoids the rigidity of dogma and static, codified aesthetical codes. She’d rather privilege the spiritual aspect – individual and personal – in the creative process.
