This new production is an opera by Mozart in an original staging. Apollo and Hyacinth, the first staged work by a Mozart aged eleven, is a Latin intermezzo commissioned to him by the University of Salzburg for the end-of-year show of 1766-1767. The opera was written by a Benedectine and professor of rhetoric, Rufinus Widl. From a staging point of view, the production has been curated by director Cecilia Ligorio, while musical conduction is entrusted to Giancarlo Andretta.
The show is part of a project for younger audiences and has been produced in cooperation with the Fine Arts Academy of Venice.
