For the Pinault Foundation in Venice, international artists and filmmakers are presenting their documentaries on the protagonists of the art world.
Four evenings are scheduled, the meeting with the artist Giorgio Andreotta Calò and 11 screenings including those of the films dedicated to Jean-Michel Basquiat, Marina Abramović and David Hammons, and those by the artists Theaster Gates and Rosa Barba. The Teatrino di Palazzo Grassi presents a selection of films from the 2022 program of Lo Schermo dell’Arte, Cinema and Contemporary Art Festival, with documentaries on the protagonists of the art world and artist films.
Born in Florence in 2008, the festival explores, analyzes and promotes the relationship between contemporary art and cinema. Since 2014 Lo Schermo dell’Arte, together with Palazzo Grassi, has curated an exhibition specifically for the audience of the Teatrino, a collaboration that this year celebrates its 10th anniversary.
