At the Teatro La Fenice, the appointment with dance is renewed, with the return to Venice of one of the most popular companies on the international scene: after Romeo and Juliet presented in 2019, Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo will once again tread the Fenice stage with Lac, a reinterpretation of Swan Lake by choreographer Jean-Christophe Maillot. Based on a drama conceived by Maillot together with the writer Jean Rouaud, the show is danced to original music by Tchaikovsky with additions by Bertrand Maillot which will be performed live by the La Fenice Theater Orchestra conducted by Igor Dronov. The artistic staff is completed by the set designer Ernest Pignon-Ernest, the costume designer Philippe Guillotel and the light designer Samuel Thery, creator of the lights together with Maillot himself. The ballet, which premiered on 27 December 2011 at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco, had been scheduled for last season and then canceled due to the pandemic.
