The man behind 200+ Black Creators, founded in response to Black Lives Matter, Sean Canty teaches at Harvard and is a co-founder of Office III, an architects’ collective nominated for the 2016 MoMA PS1 Young Architects competition. Their practice makes use of the intersection of volumes and light to introduce new geometries and materials that enrich the everyday. Canty’s interests lie in the modelling of the different ways we have of living together, where we can experience proximity towards those we care about, moving between connection and distance in the combination and juxtaposition of different scales, and exploring a large array of programmatic archetypes.
