One of the most popular pianist and composer of the last few decades, one of the most brilliant and versatile protagonists, a sensitive and multifaceted artist (as he also demonstrated by taking on the role of artistic director for the Venice Biennale Musica) will guide the audience along a path that oscillates between classical, jazz and improvisation, in which music offers itself as a unicum without fractures or borders. A show in which Beethoven and Monk, Pan Alley and Mahler, Wagner and Gershwin, swing with Verdi, passing through Bach and the Beatles, converse. Change! is the name of the song and the title of the album that Uri Caine wrote to celebrate Octavius Catto, Philadelphia activist engaged in the fight for civil rights and advocate of the integration of the black population in post-civil war America. A precocious musical talent, Caine established himself at a very young age in the jazz scene of his city. But even then he made his first forays into other genres: he played in funk groups, practiced classical music, studied composition with the great George Crumb.
