Mark Padmore was born in London and raised in Canterbury. After beginning his musical studies of clarinet, he won a scholarship to ‘King’s College’, Cambridge, where he graduated with honors. His career then developed in the world of opera, concerts and recitals. His interpretations of Bach’s Passions are famous all over the world. Imogen Cooper is an English pianist. Born in London, she is the daughter of musicologist Martin Cooper. He studied piano in London with Kathleen Long, in Paris with Jacques Février and Yvonne Lefébure, and in Vienna with Alfred Brendel, Jörg Demus and Paul Badura-Skoda. On this occasion they are engaged in a repertoire including Robert Schumann (Märzveilchen – Muttertraum – Der Soldat – Der Spielmann from Lieder op. 40 – Eichendorff Liederkreis op.39), Gabriel Fauré (Mandoline – En Sourdine from Melodies de Venise), Reynaldo Hahn ( Chanson d’Automne – Tous Deux – L’Allée est sans Fin – En Sourdine – L’heure Exquise from Chanson Grises), Gabriel Fauré (La bonne chanson op. 61).
