On the occasion of the Icônes exhibition at Punta della Dogana, the Teatrino presents the screening of Arthur Jafa’s akingdoncomethas (105′, 2018), a work that relates to themes on the icon and the status of the image.
The video work conveys a message of hope and reflects on the theme of the icon, the focus of the exhibition, through a montage composed of images of religious rituals and gospel songs recorded at African American congregations.
