TRAVIATA

Stagione Lirica e Balletto 2022-2023
10 September 2023

-

13 October 2023

With eleven performances from 10 September to 13 October Giuseppe Verdi’s La Fenice Traviata returns to the stage at the Teatro. Two prestigious casts will star in it. For the first four performances after the debut on 10 September (14, 17, 22 and 24 September) the Venetian debut in the role of Violetta by Rosa Feola is scheduled, and alongside the celebrated soprano – who is already in Venice for rehearsals, among other things, in conjunction with the presentation at the eightieth Venice International Film Festival of the film Maestro by Bradley Cooper, which sees her involved in the cast – the tenor Piero Pretti will play Alfredo, while the baritone Gabriele Viviani will be Giorgio Germont. Under the expert direction of Stefano Ranzani, Verdi’s masterpiece will be staged in the much appreciated mise-en-scène – now considered ‘iconic’ – which bears the signature of Robert Carsen for the direction and Patrick Kinmonth for the sets and costumes. It is an absolute must in the Phoenician repertoire: despite the numerous revivals since its debut in 2004 until today, the show continues to be in great demand by the public and the subject of continuous attention by the media, as evidenced by the dates scheduled for October 5, 7, 11, and 13.
