In this concert reserved for audiences under 35, Dennis Russell Davies conducts the Teatro La Fenice Orchestra in a performance of Giovanni Gabrieli’s motet In ecclesiis (1615), in Bruno Maderna’s transcription for orchestra-it is a tribute to the Venetian composer on the 50th anniversary of his death; then Richard Strauss’s splendid symphonic poem Tod und Verklärung (Death and Transfiguration, 1890); and, in the second half of the evening, Gustav Holst’s The Planets (1918): for the latter piece, the ‘hidden’ female voices will be those of the Teatro La Fenice Chorus prepared by Alfonso Caiani. The under35 initiative is part of a series of promotional activities aimed at audiences of the younger generation entitled La Fenice is Young, carried out in collaboration with McArthurGlen Noventa di Piave Design Outlet: young people in this age group for whom this performance is intended will be able to purchase tickets at the super-advantaged price of €10.00. In addition, building on the great success of previous occasions, before the start of the concert Bellussi Valdobbiadene will offer a toast at 6:30 p.m. to the under-35 audience, in a foyer made sparkling by the presence of a photographer who will welcome the young spectators by offering them a Polaroid as a souvenir of the evening.
