In his new project, we see Aaron Goldberg joined by the great New Zealand double bass player Matt Penman and the young and talented Sicilian drummer, Joe Santoro. Strongly inspired by the classics and in particular by the Jamaican pianist Monty Alexander, Aaron is gifted with a great sense of swing, but his curiosity has led him to become passionate about both Brazilian music, in particular the compositions of Antonio Carlos Jobim that he plays in each of his shows, and cultured European music. Gifted with great instrumental prowess and a refined rhythmic-melodic taste, since the early years of his career he has been the object of attention from some of the most important jazz musicians, from Michael Brecker to Kenny Garrett, from Mark Turner to Kurt Rosenwinkel, and in particular from Joshua Redman, with whom he has had an intense artistic collaboration relationship for more than twenty years.
