Another famous soloist is the German violinist Antje Weithaas, winner of the Kreisler Competition in Graz in 1987 and the Bach Competition in Leipzig in 1988, in duo with cellist Marie Elisabeth Hecker with pieces by Glière, Beethoven, Ravel and Kodály. It is not easy to meet in concert halls a duo formed by violin and cello: the one formed by Antje Weithaas and Marie-Elisabeth Hecker has an extra quid because the two German artists are very titled. Program ranging from serious Bach to operatic Mozart, with a detour to Eastern music.
