City ceremony in memory of the victims of Nazi-fascist persecution and extermination, attended by the Mayor of Venice Luigi Brugnaro, the President of the Jewish Community of Venice Dario Calimani and Fortunato Ortombina, Superintendent of the Teatro La Fenice. To follow, Concerto per la Memoria with the pianist Pina Napolitano engaged in a repertoire including Drei Klavierstücke op. 11 (Mässige Viertel – Mässige Achtel – Bewegte Achtel), Sechs kleine Klavierstücke op. 19 (Leicht, zart – Langsam – Sehr langsam – Rasch, aber leicht – Etwas rasch – Sehr langsam) and Fünf Klavierstücke op. 23 (Sehr langsam – Sehr rasch – Langsam – Schwungvoll – Waltz) by Arnold Schönberg.
Pina Napolitano regularly performs concerts in Europe, the United States and in Russia. His music has been broadcast by Radio France Classique and live on Rai Radio3 and BBC Radio3. Pina Napolitano added her humanistic studies to her musical studies: after graduating with full marks and honors in Classical Philology and then in Eastern European Languages and Cultures at the Eastern University of Naples, in 2010 she completed her PhD in Russian Literature at the Second University of Rome. Pina Napolitano currently teaches principal piano at the Martini Conservatory in Bologna, after having taught at the Torrefranca Conservatory in Vibo Valentia, the ISSM Braga in Teramo, and the Santa Cecilia Conservatory in Rome.
