Once again Markus Stenz will be the protagonist at the Teatro La Fenice, as part of the 2023-204 Symphonic Season. After last weekend’s highly successful concert, the German maestro will once again conduct the Orchestra and Chorus of the Teatro La Fenice on Saturday 6 July at 8 p.m. (S turn) and Sunday 7 July at 5 p.m. (U turn) to conduct a three-part programme, which will open with The Unanswered Question by Charles Ives, continue with the Sinfonia from Vincenzo Bellini’s Norma and conclude with extracts from Richard Wagner’s Parsifal. The soloists of the Wagner excerpts will be bass-baritone Alex Esposito in the role of Amfortas, bass Adolfo Corrado in that of Titurel, bass Tareq Nazmi in that of Gurnemanz; tenor Leonardo Cortellazzi will be Parsifal; mezzo-soprano Valeria Girardello will be a voice from above. Choirmaster Alfonso Caiani. The concert on Saturday 6 July 2024 will be preceded by a free admission meeting with the musicologist Mauro Masiero, who from 7.20 to 7.40 p.m. will illustrate the musical programme in the Sale Apollinee of the Teatro La Fenice.
