Produced by the Emilio and Annabianca Vedova Foundation and Twin Studio, Tomaso Pessina’s film traces the life and work of the great Venetian artist through the narrative voice of Toni Servillo and precious unpublished archival documents. Surrounded by his enormous works, Servillo transports us into the world of Emilio Vedova through the Venetian master’s own words, taken from diary entries which were published in the early 1960s and which, with their poetic, fragmentary and impulsive tone, perfectly restore the painter’s spirit and personality. The pages exude a profound and tormented creative process and recount the development of Vedova’s life and work against the background of essential moments in the history of the country: the post-agricultural society, fascism, the partisan struggle, the post-war period, the pictorial currents and the artistic avant-gardes. The documentary will be introduced by Luca Molinari, scientific director of M9 – Museo del ‘900. On the occasion of the screening it will be possible to visit the Vedova Revolution exhibition on the second and third floors of M9 – Museo del ‘900 at the special rate of 5 euros, from 2 to 7 pm (last admission 6.30 pm).
