Born in São Paulo in 1971, Mônica Salmaso has emerged as one of Brazil’s best voices, with important collaborations, one of them being with Chico Buarque, who composed songs for her albums and with whom she has also shared tours. In this trio, she explores the Brazilian songbook of various times and styles, combining the lyrical soul of Brazil with the jazz background of the musicians. The repertoire includes songs by Villa-Lobos, Brazilian waltzes from the early 20th century, old sambas, and lyrical songs by Tom Jobim and Vinicio de Moraes.
