Rachel has been a close collaborator of Peter Gabriel, Wayne Shorter, Stanley Clarke, Marcus Miller, Al Di Meola and Steps Ahead, and boasts 13 acclaimed albums as a bandleader. Omar Hakim, who trained in the court of Elvin Jones and Art Blakey, established himself as the drummer of the legendary Weather Report. In jazz circles, he has also worked with Miles Davis, George Benson and John Scofield, while at the same time embarking on a hyperbolic career as a session player in the service of stars of the calibre of Sting, David Bowie, Mark Knopfler’s Dire Straits, Celine Dion, Mariah Carey, Madonna, Anita Baker and our own Pino Daniele (paired with Rachel Z) and Jovanotti. Joining them for this acoustic project is American double bassist Jonathan Toscano, with an outstanding CV within the thriving New York jazz scene along with Gregoire Maret, Steve Wilson, Jeremy Pelt, Billy Kilson, George Garzone, Ben Perosky, Richie Morales, Minu Cinelu, Pheeroan Acklaff, Oz Noy and many others.
