It really looks like Veneto Jazz and their Venezia Jazz Festival want to make up for time lost over the last two years, given their upcoming programme of concerts. Certainly some of those are literally worth two: A Great Jazz Night is a double appointment (July 13) with Richard Galliano (first part) and Hermeto Pascoal e grupo & Friends (second part). This is a rare chance to watch Brazilian music and international jazz stars who not often visit Italy. Richard Galliano has been, together with his accordion, on stages all over the world for the last fifty years. His upcoming show is a recital dedicated to his favourite instrument and to music by Debussy, Satie, Granados, Michel Legrand, Astor Piazzolla, and Galliano’s own. Hermeto Pascoal is a poly-instrumentalist who became internationally known in 1971, when he worked on the recording of Miles Davis’ Live/Evil. Davis himself called him ‘one of the greatest musicians in the world.”
