Legendary pianist Rudolf Buchbinder returns as both soloist and conductor of the Fenice Theatre Orchestra for its 2024- 25 symphony season on April 3 and 5. Renowned for his interpretations of Beethoven, Buchbinder will perform the first, second, and fourth piano concertos, completing the previous season’s programme. The evening shall begin with Beethoven’s piano concerto No. 2 in B-flat major, composed around 1794 and likely premiered by the composer in 1795. The programme also features the fourth piano concerto in G major, dedicated to Archduke (and amateur musician) Rudolf of Austria, whose influence and money supported Beethoven. The concert will end with the first piano concerto in C major, composed between 1795 and 1798 and published in 1801.
