Saverio Tasca’s compositional style is characterised by a constant introspective research that involves both the emotional and the logical side of the listener. At the Sale Apollinee of the Teatro La Fenice, he replaces the piano with the vibraphone in the trio formed by Alessio Zoratto on double bass and Luca Colussi on drums. In fact, his Amos Alfredson Project was born to add a new voice to that jazz strand of the old continent that incorporates musical, compositional and expressive traditions proper to so much western, classical and ethnic music. The concert will be opened by the young Neapolitan pianist Lorenzo Vitolo, for the Tomorrow’s Jazz circuit, dedicated to young Italian jazz talents.
Amos Alfredson (Saverio Tasca’s cosmopolitan alter ego) is an imaginary musician with Middle Eastern and Nordic origins: his approach to life is unconventional and immune to constraints. Amos is a free man and has his own memory and family tales as his guides. In his mind, his parents’ chronicles of snow and sand merge into an evocative world, colourful and grey, sunny and foggy at the same time. A world, that of Amos, in which people, animals and things are welcomed and transformed into history, into music.
