With an entirely Russian programme, conductor Stanislav Kochanovsky returns to lead the Teatro La Fenice Orchestra in the next concert scheduled at the Teatro Malibran as part of the 2023-2024 Symphonic Season of the Fondazione Teatro La Fenice. On Saturday 4 May 2024 at 8 p.m. (S turn) and Sunday 5 May 2024 (5 p.m. U turn), the St. Petersburg-born maestro – appointed principal conductor of the NDR Radiophilharmonie in Hanover from the 2024-2025 season – will conduct the Violin Concerto in D major op. 35 by Pyotr Il’ič Tchaikovsky, with solo violin by Simon Zhu, winner of the Paganini Prize 2023; and Symphony No. 6 in B minor Op. 54 by Dmitrij Šostakovič. On the occasion of Stanislav Kochanovsky’s concert, the customary appointment with the Symphonic Season’s in-depth lectures will be renewed: the concert on Saturday, 4 May 2024 will in fact be preceded by a free-entrance meeting with musicologist Roberto Mori, who will illustrate the musical programme from 7.20 to 7.40 p.m.
