São Paulo singer Vanessa Moreno and Paraíba pianist Salomão Soares had already played together in larger groups, but it was after meeting for a recording session that the idea of a duo project was born. Their first album, ‘Chão de Flutuar’ (2019), was described by critics as ‘precious’ and mixed different musical genres with improvisation on both voice and piano without losing the subtleties and lyricism of a small ensemble. Two years later, ‘Yatra-Tá’ was released, reinforcing them as the most expressive duet in contemporary Brazilian jazz. Their repertoire ranges from artists such as Joyce Moreno, Luiz Gonzaga, Djavan, Hermeto Pascoal and Tania Maria, one of their main influences and the inspiration for the name of their second record.
