Più libri più liberi, the National Fair of Small and Medium Publishing of Rome arrives in Venice thanks to a collaboration between Palazzo Grassi – Punta della Dogana and MarcoPolo Bookstore. The event, hosted at the Teatrino of Palazzo Grassi and curated by Chiara Valerio, begins on February 16 with the participation of Zerocalcare.

Starting from the success of his debut comic book, The Armadillo’s Prophecy (2011), the Roman illustrator has continued to convince readers and critics alike with stories that draw heavily from real-life experiences, from graphic novels set in the Rebibbia neighborhood in Rome, where he lives, to graphic reports of his travels in hot spots around the world, such as the Kobane besieged by the Islamic State (Kobane Calling) or the enclave of Yazidis in Iraqi Kurdistan (No Sleep till Shengal). Zerocalcare has recently also dedicated himself to the creation of animated works, including Rebibbia Quarantine, in which he recounts the lockdown period, and the two Netflix series Tearing Along the Edges and This World Won’t Make Me Bad. At the end of the meeting (free upon reservation on the Palazzo Grassi website starting from February 5), the author will be available to the public for book signing of his latest publication, Enciclopædia Calcarea (BAO publishing).
