“I am one who runs away; I hide in the landscape.” Beu Bien-U (b. Yosu, South Korea, 1950) spent the last four seasons in Venice to “paint with light” – or, in other words, to photograph. “What I want to capture with my [film] camera is the dark warmth of nature and its little alleys, including the landscape of mud and water of the Venetian Lagoon.” Light of Grey, curated by Jean-Michel Wilmotte, is a collection of fifteen picture from the View of Venice series.
