Curated by Hiroki Yamamoto, this exhibition is an opportunity to get to know the deeply personal modern take on the Mono-ha style of Japanese architect-carpenter and artist Fumihiko Sano. His work combines architecture, craftsmanship and art and in his original practice the reference to the Mono-ha movement provides the line, which focuses on the relationship between the self and objects, while the sukiya-zukuri architectural tradition of 16th-century Japanese teahouses indicates the approach: the complete elimination of any decorative excess in favour of a sober and refined style.
