Moroccan photographer and video artist Leila Alaoui dedicated her life to promoting public awareness on the themes of identity, cultural diversity, and migration in the Mediterranean. Two visually impressive installations make up the exhibition. Les Marocains is a choral portrait of her home country shown in a series of large-scale prints. Crossings is the story of the journey Sub Saharan migrants take to reach Morocco, and then Europe. A mix of images and videos shows the migrants’ lives and their collective trauma.
