A ‘concept pavilion’ on the theme of folly at San Servolo Island, where a psychiatric hospital once stood. Polish artist Dominik Lejman (Gdan´sk, 1969) is the first guest artist at, and also co-founder of, Madnicity Pavilion, together with Richard Hallward, Bianca O’Brien, and Mario Caeiro. Eleven installations and performances populate the halls and gardens at San Servolo to trace the story of repression, reclusion, and the meaning of folly in a society that believes to be sane, though instead shows it only funnelled folly into even crazier dynamics.
