Paintings, prints, documents, costumes, musical instruments, and masks tell the story of one of the most celebrated forms of Japanese theatre, no, which arrived in Europe thanks to Biennale in 1954. Most of the items and art on exhibition are part of the Museum’s collection, itself deriving for the most part from that of Prince Henry of Borbone-Parma. The modern staging of plays is shown in photo documentation by Fabio Massimo Fioravanti, who has been working on no since 1989.
