The word Gharıb may be translated as ‘foreigner who lives among us’ and introduces the main theme of an exhibition that explores different forms of world organization that do not fall within the purview of western culture. An installation by Andrius Arutiunian (Vilnius, Lithuania, 1991) presents a collection of original objects that are all about sound. At the heart of the project, a composition titled You Do Not Remember Yourself uses natural resonance to evoke the idealized presence of famous Armenian composer Georges Ivanovicˇ Gurdjieff.
