Just over twenty works summarize the artistic parable of Ha Chong-Hyun, Master of Dansaekhwa art, showing the different materials and methods he experimented in the last six decades. From the abstract works of the early 60s, linked to the Korean informal movement, to the rediscovery of the traditional decorative art of the Dancheong; from the acclaimed Conjunction series, where the oil color is pushed from the back of the texture of the raw canvas (bae-ap-bub), to the most recent works, the exhibition captures not only the artist’s infinite creative and experimental energy, but also his pioneering role in the development of Korean art.
