Algae undaria pinnatifida is an invasive species that originates in the Far East and is now present in the Venetian Lagoon. The seaweed is nutritious and easily harvested. In the Lithuanian project, it assumes a symbolic, yet concrete and propositional value. By cooperating with experts on fermentation, Robertas Narkus (Vilnius, Lithuania, 1983) created an old-style vegetable orchard – a social space that, thanks to the help of scientists, artists, residents, and local small business, functions as a processing shop.
