Tsherin Sherpa (Kathmandu, Nepal, 1968) is a prominent Nepalese contemporary artist. He initiated a fruitful cooperation with many other Nepalese artists to work on their common roots, testimonies, languages, and rituals so that the past can be used to go beyond the western imagery, which suffers from a romanticized point of view and sees Nepal and the Himalayan region at-large as a static piece of territory, untouched by time and modernity, or a land of mysticism and sacredness.
