For its debut at the Art Biennale, Oman chose Circle Group, an artists’ collective founded in the late 1990s by Hassan Meer (Muscat, 1972), a renowned interpreter of Oman’s art identity. Photography, video and audio installation, sculpture, and embroidery are the expressive languages used by Circle Group to immerse visitors in a deep exploration of Omani aesthetics and, more generally, in the most symbolic and less-known aspects of Arabian culture.
