By taking inspiration in his childhood memories and his family’s long history of migration, Muhannad Shono (Riyadh, 1977) ranges from robot to tech art using a versatile, high-impact style. Small-scale drawings alternate with massive sculptures. In Shono’s installation, a sense of freedom that transcends cultural borders is pervasive. It represents the energetic and visionary spirit of modern Saudi Arabia.
