Ignasi Aballí’s project is divided in two sections, each of which tries to rectify errors that, in the artist’s opinion, have been made in creating the Spanish Pavilion and in communicating Venice as a tourist destination. On one side, the artist worked on the Pavilion at Giardini by building walls that are rotated by ten degrees compared to the existing walls. The goal is to align the structure with neighbouring Pavilions. Aballí’s second action is the publication of six original guides to Venice, which ‘correct’ what tourist guides usually write about the city.
